Current Activities

In October 2010 all national TV channels have announced switch-off date December 1st 2010 when all major analog transmitters will be switched off. According to the latest change of the Digital broadcasting act public broadcaster RTV Slovenija will be able to keep some small analog transmitters operating until digital signal reaches remote areas.


In September 2010 APEK has issued 5 local DVB-T mux licenses for the following areas: Litija, Muska sobota, Celje, Dornberk and area between Ravne na Koroškem and Celje.


On 12 June 2009 APEK launched public tender for granting rights for three TV programmes to be present in a digital multiplex with national coverage. Allocations for these TV programmes will be made available in multiplexes A and B, which both have national coverage.

The deadline for APEK to receive complete tenders is 10 September 2009 at 2 PM. Overdue and incorrectly labelled tenders will not be taken into account. Public opening of the tenders will take place at APEK on 14 September 2009 at 10 AM.

APEK would like to stress, that all the tenderers must be holders of a licence for performing television activities for the TV programme they are tendering, before they submit tender for the right to be present in a digital multiplex. The licence for performing television activities and the procedure for obtaining this licence are explained in Article 105 of Mass Media Act, (available in English also, see  Broadcasting Lesgislation)

With regard to programme content the following conditions are to be met by tenderers:

  • TV programme must be designed for the national audience in the Republic of Slovenia.

  • TV programme must broadcast at least 12 hours of in-house and other production daily.

  • TV programme must be transmitted free-to-air.

  • TV programme must be broadcasted every day, at least 20 hours per day.

The tender documentation with detailed description of conditions, requirements and all the criteria for the selection of the tenderers is available in Slovenian language on APEK website and can also be obtained at APEK's main office each working day from 9 AM to 11 AM, on Wednesdays also from 1 PM to 2 PM. All the questions regarding the tender documentation must be submitted to APEK by 2 September 2009 at 2 PM in written form and in Slovenian language. APEK will publish all the answers by 7 September 2009 on its website.

All the tenders must be submitted in Slovenian language.
